About ImagineMaine....

ImagineMaine is the product of a number of our special interests: photography, history and, of course, Maine. The site has been active since June 2000; the current site is a complete reorganization and redesign and was posted in August 2008. We have changed our web server to .Mac in hopes of providing easier upgrades and more features.
Our Maine Cooking page has been expanded to include a Foodways link page for those interested in the history of Maine foods and cooking and a new blog style recipe page. Totally new to the site is the Knit ME blog which is my other passion. And, of course, our popular "Maine Stories" and "Mrs. Higgins’ Maine Studies Links" continue to be found here at ImagineMaine.
Somewhere back in the last century (mid 1990’s) I began publishing Mrs. Higgins Maine Studies Links for my middle school students. In early 2006 I updated and expanded the Maine Foods page. These pages are designed purely to help people find information sites on Maine. They are not intended to advertise or endorse products. Sometimes a merchant site also provides substantive or little known information on a Maine topic and I include it on my pages. BUT I try not to link to sites that are largely merchandizing sites no matter how Maine-ly the product being sold. That said, I am always interested in a good site to include in my links.

Now that the big upgrade has been accomplished. We hope to get back to producing content- new stories, recipes and galleries. In the mean time we look forward to your feedback and comments via email.

ImagineMaine continues to be produced on Apple Macintosh computers. We use Adobe PhotoShop CS and iWeb.
